Food Trip Friday #14

I love shrimps! For this week's Food Trip Friday, my entry ..... fresh shrimps....

FRESH SHRIMPS

The picture above was taken when we went home to Philippines last January 2009. One of the things that I missed is to go to the market, so I couldn't pass the chance to visit the market while we were on vacation. Dave even enjoyed going to the market. Of course, we bought plenty of fresh shrimp! Who could resist fresh shrimp anyway....

Happy weekend food trippers! Please check out more entries of Food Trip Friday....

Easy Buttered Shrimp

I know I posted a lot of shrimp dishes here.... Well I admit, I love shrimp! (Well, even if I don't admit, it is pretty obvious....). I happen to be able to buy shrimps in an asian fish market with shells and heads on. When I bought it, I was planning to cook "sinigang na hipon" but I when I was ready to cook, I changed my mind so I end up with this easy recipe.

Here is my easy buttered shrimp.

Ingredients:
Shrimp with shells
Salted Butter
Garlic
Pepper

Directions:
Melt butter. Add Shrimp and season with garlic and pepper. Cook until done. Serve.

This recipe is really easy. I love dipping this with a mixture of soy sauce and lemon. Of course what better way to eat this than using your hands! Enjoy eating!

Food Trip Friday # 3

It is Food Trippers Day again. Check the entries today at Food Trip Friday. For my entry, I am posting here Buttered Shrimp with Shells-On. Actually most Americans don't like eating shrimps with shells-on... Perhaps they are too lazy to remove the shells. I only cook shrimps with shells for me and my filipino friends as hubby always prefers a shrimp dish that doesn't have shells on it.

Shrimp in Wine

I got this recipe from Dad Bill. The first time he cooked this for us was when we visited him during the lenten season last year. I don't eat meat during fridays the whole lenten season, so Dad decided to serve us with shrimp. He cooked the Shrimp in Wine and I loved it and since then, it has been one of our favorites.

Ingredients:

1lb shrimp (shelled and deveined)

3tbsp margarine

1medium sized onion (cut in strips)

2tsp parsley

pepper

garlic powder

lemon juice (1/2 piece lemon)

1/2 cup white wine

Directions:

Melt the margarine, add onions, add the shrimp, and stir lightly. Season with pepper, garlic powder. Add parsley. Stir in lemon juice and wine. Bring to boil, cover and simmer for 15 minutes or until juice is thick. ( Note: I add salt to taste)

Serve with rice.
