Wedding means Big Feast

Getting married nowadays has become very expensive. Depending on what's your tradition, the cost of the wedding depends. In the place where I came from, church weddings are very important. Friends and families (including friends of friends and long distant relatives) are expected to be at the ceremony and the reception. This just means that you ought to have a big feast for your wedding.

Wedding may have evolved but it remains to be a day of celebration and joy and what's the best way to celebrate than to have a feast?

Here's a History Brief History of Weddings.

Wedding Rehearsal

The big wedding will be on June 18 and the wedding rehearsal will be tomorrow. Finally, a good friend of mine is tying the knot. We are all excited for her because if somebody deserves to be happy, she is one of them. My friend is among the best. She is always there for everybody, willing to lend a hand and the likes. My family and all our friends are happy that she finally is able to marry the man she loves.

Anyway, the wedding has a huge entourage. There will be more than 20 bridesmaids and a couple of maids of honor. I was asked if I wanted to be one of the bridesmaids but I politely declined. Now some of my friends are all set. They already got their bridesmaid dresses.

Few weeks ago I accompany some of them. We were looking for junior bridesmaid dresses in lavender and yellow. Bridesmaids can wear either of the two colors. We were hoping we can find some cheap prom dresses that can also be considered as bridesmaid dresses but since the school already ended the store doesn't sell a lot of prom dresses anymore. Anyhow, we were glad that we went to a bridal store and we found some dresses that were really nice and affordable.

Everybody is excited for the wedding rehearsal tomorrow and of course we can't wait to witness the actual wedding.

Wedding Month

Being a Filipino, I always thought of June as a wedding month. I grew up in the idea that it is awesome to be a June bride. It is always believed in our place that you should get married in the month of June. For whatever reason, everybody thinks that a June wedding will be successful.

Speaking of wedding, my younger brother will be getting married this June. His wife to be is really busy preparing for the big event. If only they are here in the USA, they can easily get married without a lot of fuss. They could get married in Vegas and just choose one of those las vegas hotel and wedding packages. These packages provides everything from the wedding place to reception to decoration including wedding photography.

If I will ever have a budget for grand wedding, I will surely check on these kind of wedding packages.

Jojo and Jenjen's Wedding

Jojo is my youngest brother. He is marrying Jenjen. The wedding will be on June 2010. There is no definite date yet.

When my brother told me that he is getting married, I was actually not surprised but I wished that the wedding will be early next year. I can only wish as I cannot imposed when they should get married. We can't come home to attend their wedding this June and that's too bad.

Wedding preparations are exhausting. I have done many and I know how hard it is. I am glad that my sisters are helping Jenjen preparing for their wedding. I also helped and suggested where she can buy discount wedding invitations. I cannot helped her physically in doing all the necessary things but I can always suggest about how things should be done. She also asks my opinion on different decisions and I am glad that she trusted me that much.

She already chose the colors of their wedding invitations and the sample design is really elegant. So far so good as they only have 3 months to go and it's already their wedding.
