Fried Green Tomatoes

Fried green tomatoes is famous in the movie with the same title where the setting was based on the Whistle Stop Cafe in Irondale, Alabama.

I never had fried green tomatoes before I moved here in Alabama. Dave has been telling me about how it would be a big hit if I will serve one in the Philippines.

When I got here, I tried this recipe and I loved it. It is difficult though to cook this all the time because of the availability of green tomatoes.

When we went to Cullman Fresh Market I bought green tomatoes so here we are enjoying fried green tomatoes.

Ingredients:

Green Tomatoes (sliced)

Corn Meal

Salt and pepper

Oil for frying

Directions:

Cut tomatoes into slices. Seasoned with salt and pepper. Dredge in corn meal. Fry until lightly brown. Drain. Serve hot.
