Southern Turnip Greens

Last week, I first made my southern turnip greens.  It tasted good but I prefer my way of cooking turnip greens as I want my greens not to be overcooked.

This recipe calls for the turnip greens to be simmered for an hour or so.  It really tasted so good as you can taste the flavorings of the ham hocks.

Ingredients:
turnip greens, chopped
smoked ham hocks
water
black pepper
salt

Directions:

  • Boil ham hocks in water.  When it is tender and water is almost half gone, add turnips.
  • Bring to boil and simmer for an hour or so
  • Season with salt and pepper
  • Serve
