Sinigang is a very famous Tagalog dish. When we first introduced it to our folks back in "bundok ng tralala" they all thought that they are eating spoiled soup because it has a sour taste which is a common indicator of spoiled dish. After a while, our folks got used to it and they started loving them. In fact, my dad would always ask why it is not sinigang when we cook soup that is just plain.
Anyway, because of the scarcity of sinigang ingredients here in the USA, sometimes we will just cook whatever is handy.
Here's my food trip, Sinigang na Baboy but without kangkong (swamp cabbage), okra, and long beans. But mind you, just the same this is very yummy!

I always used spinach in replacement of Kangkong and green beans instead of sitaw. :)
iyan ang namimiss ko dito sa middle east ..pork sinigang.bawal kasi baboy dito.
Sinigang din ang entry mo, Lu; sobrang sarap kasi aya dami nagluluto eh; ako naman chicken gagamitin ko kasi walang pork sa fridge eh :-)
hahaha bundok ng tralala talaga ha! i learned to eat sinigang when i moved to Manila. di rin uso ang sinigang sa bundok namin.:p
Pag nagsisigang ako, ako lang kumakain wahhhhh.. Di kasi mahilig sa sour si hubs and the kids lol..

ay ako din same as mommy willa... baby spinach and green beans ang aking pangsinigang... aba nakakita ako ng sitaw dito... na excite ako, buti tinanong ko muna magkano, susme! 1 tali eh P300... kmusta naman? haha!!!
